Her clients particularly appreciate her clarity and compassion.

Dorothee has been a successful small business owner since the 1990s. As a fully bilingual and bicultural speaker of German and English, she built an international career as a sought-after translator. She has provided executive and scientific translations for numerous international corporations and not-for-profit organizations. She served as the president-elect and president of the American Translators Association from 2009 to 2013. During her leadership tenure, she placed special emphasis on business education for freelance translators and interpreters.

In 2014, Dorothee established Take Back My Day as a consulting firm to help small business owners find better balance and more consistent productivity. In partnering with her clients, she realized the benefits of coaching to identify effective individual approaches.

Dorothee lives in Buffalo, NY. When she is not writing or coaching, she enjoys the outdoors and her beloved garden.
