Brush stroke

Passionate about creative success and lifework, DOROTHEE RACETTE works with creative professionals and small business owners to help them reach the next level of achievement in their business and personal lives. Based on her conviction that unconventional productivity solutions are superior to one-size-fits-all approaches, she helps her clients find the productive balance they need to pursue their long-term goals. Her clients particularly appreciate her clarity and compassion.

Dorothee has been a successful small business owner since the 1990s. As a fully bilingual and bicultural speaker of German and English, she founded her first business, One World Language Services, Inc., in 1997 and built an international career as a sought-after six-figure translator. She has provided executive and scientific translations for numerous international corporations and not-for-profit organizations. She joined the Board of Directors of the American Translators Association (ATA) in 2005 and served as the organization’s president-elect and president from 2009 to 2013. During her leadership tenure, she placed special emphasis on business education for freelance translators and interpreters.

In 2014, Dorothee established Take Back My Day as a consulting firm to help small business owners find better balance and more consistent productivity. In partnering with her clients, she quickly realized the benefits of coaching to identify effective individual approaches. She now is a certified productivity coach and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Dorothee’s insights into the struggles of creative clients led to the publication of her book, Complete What You Started, in 2020. She teaches regular workshops based on the concept and is a popular speaker. In addition, Dorothee is an instructor with Coach Approach for Organizers, a coach training program for professional organizers and productivity consultants.

Dorothee lives in Albany, NY. When she is not writing or coaching, she enjoys the outdoors and her beloved garden.
